Important WWE Star Suffers Strange Injury During Raw

In a triple-threat Elimination Chamber qualifier match on Monday’s episode of Raw, creative plans seem to have been thrown for a loop. In a match between Jey Uso, Original El Grande Americano, and Bronson Reed, Reed was seriously injured and couldn’t continue.

If the injury wasn’t problematic enough, reports from @WrestleVotes is that Reed was projected to win the match.

While breaking up a pin, what looked like a relatively harmless move turned ugly. Reed immediately looked at his arm, knowing he did damage. Referees and officials checked on him, and he was removed from the match entirely.

The bout seemed to come to a near stop as everyone else involved tried to navigate a creative shift on the fly. The match essentially became a one-on-one between Uso and Americano, with Jey Uso winning via Uso Splash to earn the final spot in the men’s Elimination Chamber match (set for February 28 in Chicago).

It was clear that neither Uso nor El Grande knew right away what to do. If Reed was supposed to win and advance, who did WWE want to pivot toward?

Replay footage showed Reed clutching/looking at his arm, with many speculating that he suffered a bicep or tricep injury (potentially a tear). The referee reportedly threw up the “X” signal, indicating a real issue, and the match was adjusted on the fly. The timing of a Reed injury couldn’t be worse. With Bron Breakker already sidelined indefinitely due to hernia surgery, members of The Vision faction are dropping like flies.

No official WWE statement or detailed medical update has been released yet. WWE announcer Michael Cole said they would try to provide an update on Reed’s status sometime later in the show.
