Becky Lynch has officially confirmed that she’s stepping away from in-ring competition—at least for now. Appearing on The Ultimate Improv Show on April 11, the WWE Superstar addressed her absence from the WrestleMania 41 build-up, dashing hopes of a surprise return in Las Vegas next weekend.
“It’s WrestleMania season, isn’t it? I’m not wrestling anymore… maybe one day but not right now,” Lynch said. She laughed off teases of a possible return next weekend, then lightheartedly mentioned her husband, Seth Rollins, still having a match on the company’s biggest show of the year. He’ll be wrestling Roman Reigns and CM Punk in a Triple Threat match to close Night One.

Is Becky Lynch Retiring From WWE?
While Lynch hasn’t officially used the word “retirement,” her phrasing and demeanor have sparked speculation that she may be inching closer to hanging up her boots for good. After all, this isn’t her first break from the ring—Lynch took time off in 2020 following the birth of her daughter and has since balanced sporadic returns with long absences.
The timing of her comments, just days ahead of WrestleMania 41, makes it clear that fans shouldn’t expect a dramatic last-minute appearance. And though she left the door open—“maybe one day”—that return feels less certain than ever.

Lynch’s future in WWE is a double-edged sword. While some fans are understandably disappointed that “The Man” won’t be returning, it opens the door for rising stars in WWE’s Women’s Division to step into the spotlight and build momentum. Charlotte Flair’s return should be proof that fans are ready for new blood to take over the women’s division and that veterans and past superstars shouldn’t always be thrust right back into the main event scene.
Perhaps Lynch sees that and feels it’s too soon to jump back into the top slot in the women’s division.
One thing is certain: if and when Lynch decides to return, it’ll be a seismic moment for WWE.
