For the second consecutive year, the New York Yankees’ season ended in the ALDS at Yankee Stadium against an AL East Division rival, and once again, the team that eliminated them is rubbing it in.
Last year, it was Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and the Toronto Blue Jays handling New York in four games, with the superstar first baseman infamously trolling the Yankees during his postgame celebration on air with David Ortiz and the MLB on FOX crew.
This time around, New York was swept in three games by the Tampa Bay Rays, and not only did Junior Caminero bring out the brooms after the series clincher, he followed in Guerrero Jr.’s footsteps by belting out “Daaaa Yankees lose” all night long afterward.
“Let the Yankees fans talk now. Let them watch the whole thing. Talk Now. What ya gonna say? Daaaaa Yankees lose,”
The 23-year-old went without a home run or RBI in the ALDS, though he did hit .300 across the three games. He’s coming off another monster campaign in which he hit 42 home runs and drove in 101 runs while batting .276 in 162 games.

While Caminero has nowhere near as much of a thorn in the Yankees’ side as Guerrero Jr., who crushed them for three home runs and nine RBI while hitting .529 in the 2025 ALDS, his Rays took care of business rather quickly, so he’s allowed to celebrate.
Tampa Bay will now sit back and await the winner of the Cleveland Guardians and Chicago White Sox series to see who they’ll play in the ALCS. New York, on the other hand, watches another season with World Series expectations fall well short and will now face major questions about how they can snap their lengthy 17-year championship drought in 2027.
