Dylan Larkin Wants a Trade to One of These Three Teams

We’ve known for a few days now that Dylan Larkin wants to be traded from the Detroit Red Wings, and on Monday, we learned which three teams he specifically wants to be dealt to.

Larkin has all of the say in the situation thanks to a full no-movement clause through 2027-28, and according to a recent report from Helene St. James, the Red Wings captain has his sights set on the Florida Panthers, Minnesota Wild, and Vegas Golden Knights.

Insider Frank Seravalli relayed the news on X (formerly Twitter).

“Helene reports that Dylan Larkin gave #LGRW three teams where he’d accept a trade and believes those teams are: #FlaPanthers, #mnwild and #VGK,”

The 29-year-old Larkin has five years remaining on the eight-year, $69.6 million contract extension he signed to stay with Detroit back in 2023. He’s coming off a 67-point season (34 goals, 33 assists) in 74 games played during the 2025-26 campaign.

Nobody should be surprised to hear that Florida, Minnesota, and Vegas are atop Larkin’s wish list. We’ve seen all three organizations land superstars via blockbuster trades over the years, from Matthew Tkachuk joining the Panthers, to Quinn Hughes landing with the Wild, to the Golden Knights acquiring seemingly every star player they have via trade.

St. James does note that Larkin may need to expand that list, which is understandable given some of the hurdles involved in making a deal happen, particularly with Florida and Vegas. It’s anyone’s guess which other teams may interest the star center, though the Tampa Bay Lightning and Dallas Stars have been mentioned by Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman and are often involved when big names become available.

Red Wings GM Steve Yzerman ultimately doesn’t have to give in to Larkin’s demands, however, which could make for a fascinating offseason in Detroit.
