“I’m gonna go home and get a good night’s sleep. … One day at a time,” said Tom Brady on what’s next as he spoke with media following a loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Monday night. Brady jogged off the field for what might have been his last time in the NFL and he kissed his parents goodbye. NFL announcer Joe Buck said, “An emotional scene here as Tom Brady exits the field with a wave to the home crowd… for what might be… the final time he puts on the uniform… in his illustrious career. We’ll be right back.”
Only Tom Brady might not be. He said he wouldn’t rush a decision and he’ll know when he knows, but this could be the final time Brady plays in the NFL.
Brady will go down as the greatest quarterback to ever play the game. Unfortunately, his final season will be remembered for what it may have cost him personally. He wound up splitting from his wife Giselle, his team got crushed by the Dallas Cowboys (31 – 14) and there will be questions by many about whether he should return.
Brady played most of his career for the New England Patriots. He is considered one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time and has won numerous awards and accolades throughout his career, including seven Super Bowl titles and five Super Bowl MVP awards. He also holds many NFL records, including most career touchdown passes, most career playoff wins, and most career passing yards. In March 2020, he left the Patriots to join Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He led the team to win Superbowl LV. That said, many believe he’s held on too long.
Now 45, Brady will now enter another offseason with some big questions that require answers. Does he give year 24 some consideration? Or, should he retire again and likely enter a career in broadcasting? Many believe he’s not done. If he does return, it could be an interesting summer. He’s already been linked to the Miami Dolphins and Las Vegas Raiders.
