Mandy Rose appeared on The Tamron Show on Tuesday to talk about how things went down between WWE and herself when she was released for having posted questionable content on a third-party site called FanTime. The content was outside of the parameters for her contract with the company, and as such, WWE felt the need to remove her as NXT Champion and part ways with her effective immediately.
Since that time, Rose has gone on to make over $1 million on the site, but she says she would remove the questionable content if it meant she could return to WWE.
It has been about one month since WWE released Rose and she left NXT. She explained that she was not told at any point that her losing the championship the night before her release was connected to her FanTime content and was disappointed to learn that was the reason. She also mentioned that she’s hurt, but holds no ill will towards the company because she’s grateful for all she was able to do there.
What she says is most disheartening is that she feels as though she lost her sense of purpose when she was let go. Saying “nobody wants to get that phone call they’ve been fired’, she noted that she was really proud of the work she’d done as champion, helping usher along Toxic Attraction and make a new faction and really work with talent. That’s all gone now.
Would WWE Bring Her Back?
It’s not beyond the realm of possibility that WWE would have a conversation with Rose about the content and bring her back if she removed it. If she’s willing to do so and that’s all WWE was concerned with, there’s no reason she can’t be back in time for the Royal Rumble. At the same time, if WWE feels the damage has been done and the only way for her to come back would be to take down her entire FanTime account, it doesn’t make a lot of sense for her to do so financially.
Rose did acknowledge that WWE had warned her in the past about removing content to which she complied. Obviously, she was not completely surprised that her content cause her termination.
She added there is a confidentiality clause and there are some things she can’t talk about. WWE warned her once to take down content and she complied. Still, Rose said that whatever she does in the privacy of her own home is well within her right to share. She can choose to show “action, whether it be photo shoots, my everyday personal life, nothing is wrong with that and that’s what I was doing.”
