Kansas City Chiefs Win Super Bowl LVII, Mahomes Named MVP

The Kansas City Chiefs are your Super Bowl LVII Champions! Chiefs Come Back In The Second Half To Defeat The Eagles, 38-35. Patrick Mahomes joins some elite company as the quarterback to win another Super Bowl and a regular season MVP award. The only other players with two regular-season MVPs and two Super Bowl wins were Tom Brady, Joe Montana, Steve Young, and Peyton Manning. Mahomes was also named Super Bowl LVII MVP.

Jalen Hurts had a whale of a game in the loss. He threw for 304 passing yards, grabbed a total of 70 rushing yards, and scored four total touchdowns.

The game was back and forth and extremely tight. It came down to a penalty on a 3rd and 8 with 1:54 to go in a 35-35 tie game. Mahomes threw an incomplete pass, however, the officials called a holding penalty on Eagles CB James Bradberry, who grabbed Chiefs WR Juju Smith-Schuster. Many believed it was a play that should have been overlooked at that stage in the game, but it gave the Chiefs a first down and allowed them to run out the clock with just enough time to get a field goal and all but eliminate the Eagles’ chance to do the same.

Mahomes gutted out the game after getting hurt in the late stages of the first half. He came out in the third quarter and put a drive together to immediately get the Chiefs back into the game and took over from there.

This will go down as one of the most memorable and entertaining games in recent Super Bowl memory. It’s a shame it ended with the Chiefs running down the clock, but they took advantage of an opportunity given and pulled off the win. With a 38-35 victory, the Chiefs are the 2023 NFL Super Bowl Champions!
