By the time he hit the NHL in the 2010-11 season, Eberle was ready. He wasted no time making an impact in the league.
Eberle Has Played with Three NHL Teams
Here’s a breakdown of Eberle’s NHL career with each of the three NHL teams he’s played with.
First, he suited up with the Edmonton Oilers from 2010 to 2017. Eberle spent the majority of his early NHL career with the Oilers. There he showed his consistent scoring abilities. During the 2011-12 season, he had a breakout season with 76 points. However, despite individual success, the Oilers struggled as a team during his tenure. That fact is reflected in his negative plus-minus ratings and lack of playoff appearances.
His second team was the New York Islanders, where he played from 2017 to 2021. Eberle’s move to the Islanders marked a new chapter in his career. He continued to be a reliable scorer. During his time with the Islanders, he maintained solid offensive production, consistently putting up around 40-60 points per season. His playoff performances with the Islanders were especially notable, with key contributions in several postseasons, including 23 points in 22 playoff games during the 2019-20 season.
When the Seattle Kraken expanded into the NHL in 2021, Eberle joined them as one of their key veteran leaders. He brought experience and scoring ability to the newly established team. Despite the Kraken’s struggles in their inaugural season, Eberle remained a consistent point producer, tallying 44 points in 79 games during his first season with the team.
Although the Kraken is one of the few teams that don’t have a captain, Eberle’s leadership role expanded in his three seasons there. There he remains and continues to contribute offensively while also mentoring younger players on the team.
Eberle Has Brought Intelligent Leadership to the Kraken
Throughout his career, Eberle has impacted each team he’s played with. He brings leadership and experience to every team. His versatility and hockey IQ make him a valuable asset and he’s earned respect from teammates and his opponents.
Recently, Eberle signed a two-year, $9.5 million contract extension with the Kraken. With that contract, he has cemented his place with the franchise. The Kraken celebrated Eberle’s milestone of reaching 1,000 NHL games with a memorable ceremony, showcasing their class and respect for the veteran forward. From personalized gifts to heartfelt tributes, the Kraken spared no expense in honoring Eberle’s remarkable achievement.
Eberle Has Been a Productive Professional
Throughout his career, Eberle has been both a prolific goal scorer and a proficient playmaker, as reflected in his career total of 399 assists. While his goal-scoring ability often garners attention, his playmaking skills have been instrumental in setting up scoring opportunities for his teammates.
As Eberle continues to add to his impressive NHL resume with the Kraken, his legacy as a skilled and dedicated player remains firmly established. The combination of his on-ice performance and off-ice leadership inspires the younger members of the Kraken roster.
Congratulations to Eberle on two counts. First, on his contract extension; and, second, on his remarkable milestone of 1,000 NHL games. Continued success with the Seattle Kraken.
