Insider Suggests Eagles Could Pursue Lamar Jackson

The 2025 season was an extreme disappointment for the Baltimore Ravens, and major changes came as a result — none bigger than the firing of John Harbaugh after 18 seasons as head coach.

Lamar Jackson will now be playing for a new coach — Jesse Minter — for the first time in his NFL career, however, questions about his future as a Raven are also swirling.

Nothing has come to fruition despite talk of a contract extension to keep the superstar quarterback in Baltimore beyond 2028, and because of that, insider Jason La Canfora believes that another underwhelming season could see Jackson on the move, with the Philadelphia Eagles as a landing spot to watch.

La Canfora wrote:

“The fact they have made no headway with Jackson and he left their building after being around for a month straight and they accomplished nothing is a serious cause for concern. When he returns for camp he’s in football mode and I believe Jackson is being totally sincere when he says how “cool” he is playing this year for $52M and then seeing where the chips fall.

Call me crazy, but if the Eagles are still looking to upgrade at QB after this season, I could see Howie Roseman inserting himself into this Lamar situation in a big deal. If Jackson isn’t extended by Week 1 they will be hanging a huge “Call Us About Our Quarterback After The Season” sign on the front of their franchise,”

The 29-year-old Jackson has two years remaining on the five-year, $260 million contract extension he signed with the Ravens back in 2023. He threw for 2,549 yards, 21 touchdowns, and seven interceptions while rushing for 349 yards and two touchdowns in 13 games last season.

This could all become a moot point if Jackson and the Ravens have a bounce-back season and go deep into the playoffs, but that’s easier said than done in an AFC North that features an always-solid Pittsburgh Steelers team and a Cincinnati Bengals squad desperate to win with Joe Burrow.

Should Jackson ever be available, the Eagles would be a fascinating suitor, as we know how aggressive they are, often in on every big-name player. Pair that with the questions and concerns that always seem to surround Jalen Hurts, and it’s easy to understand why they would be linked to such a move.
