Basketball fans have seen this coming for quite some time; Giannis Antetokounmpo has publicly made it known that he’s ready to move on from the Milwaukee Bucks.
While trade rumors had long been swirling around Antetokounmpo, a recent calf injury put a halt to those discussions, and though he remains without a timetable to return, it’s become clear that when he does get back on the court, it may not be as a Buck.
ESPN insider Shams Charania broke the latest news that Antetokounmpo is seeking a change of scenery, whether that comes before the February 5 trade deadline or in the offseason.
“Two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo is ready for a new home at the Feb. 5 NBA trade deadline or in the offseason as several rival teams make aggressive offers to the Milwaukee Bucks for him, and the franchise is starting to listen, league sources tell ESPN,”
The 31-year-old Antetokounmpo is in year one of the three-year, $175,369,698 extension he signed with the Bucks back in 2023, which includes a player option following the 2026-27 campaign.
He’s continued to pile up massive numbers despite missing chunks of time with injury, averaging 28.0 PPG, 10 RPG, and 5.6 APG across 30 contests.
Teams to Watch for Giannis Antetokounmpo
While every team in the league would have interest in landing a player like Antetokounmpo, the two-time MVP will have plenty of say in where his next home will be, which could narrow down the list of potential suitors.

Given that, the usual suspects to keep an eye on are the San Antonio Spurs, Miami Heat, New York Knicks, Oklahoma City Thunder, Los Angeles Lakers, Toronto Raptors, and even the Golden State Warriors. There could, of course, be other outside-the-box teams that emerge, though the interest may not be mutual.
It’s been a very quiet few weeks around the NBA, perhaps because everyone has been waiting for this shoe to drop. Now that it’s out in the open that Antetokounmpo wants a trade, the market should begin to take shape — and fireworks could ensue.

This was a really helpful article, especially the part about focusing on sustainable habits instead of quick fixes. A lot of people underestimate how small daily changes can make a big difference over time. I also liked the emphasis on consistency rather than perfection, which is something many beginners struggle with. Thanks for sharing practical advice that feels realistic and achievable.
