“The Indiana Pacers are finalizing a trade to acquire All-Star F Pascal Siakam in a deal that will send Bruce Brown, Jordan Nwora and three first-round picks to the Toronto Raptors,” writes ESPN insider Adrian Wojnarowski. New Orleans will be a third team in deal, sending Kira Lewis to the Raptors, the NBA insider adds.
The full trade, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic, is as follows:
The Indiana Pacers are set to acquire forward Pascal Siakam from the Toronto Raptors in exchange for Bruce Brown Jr. and three first-round picks. Jordan Nworu will also be sent to the Raptors as part of the deal, and the New Orleans Pelicans are involved as a third team. As reported by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Pelicans will trade Kira Lewis to Toronto and send a 2024 second-round pick to the Pacers in this multi-team transaction.
The three first-round picks in the deal include two in 2024 and one in 2026, according to Wojnarowski. Of the two picks this year, one will be the Pacers own pick and the other will be the worst pick between the Oklahoma City Thunder, Utah Jazz, Los Angeles Clippers and Houston Rockets.
Siakam is excited about the deal to the Pacers and expected to be eager to work out a new contract with the franchise this summer, sources tell ESPN. Siakam can be a free agent in July.
The Raptors, having struggled this season following a decade of consistent performance, made a significant move. They traded OG Anunoby, Malachi Flynn, and Precious Achiuwa to the New York Knicks in exchange for RJ Barrett, Immanuel Quickley, and a 2024 second-round draft pick.
It comes as no shock that Siakam has departed, marking a significant loss for the franchise given his remarkable career and legacy. Siakam found a home in Toronto since entering the NBA in 2016 as a rookie from New Mexico State. Just two years later, he played a pivotal role in the team’s inaugural championship season, contributing 16.9 points and 6.9 rebounds as a full-time starter.
