Bam Adebayo Strikes Tyler Herro in Reported Physical Altercation

Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro are no longer teammates, and that’s probably a good thing.

After seven years together with the Miami Heat, the latter was recently dealt to the Milwaukee Bucks as part of the return package for superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo. Herro hasn’t been shy about criticizing Adebayo on social media since the trade, and that reportedly resulted in a confrontation at Summer League in Las Vegas on Friday.

ESPN insider Shams Charania broke the news on X (formerly Twitter) that Adebayo and Herro got into a physical altercation in which the Heat center struck his former teammate in the face area.

Charania wrote:

“Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro got into a physical altercation in Las Vegas on Friday in which Adebayo struck Herro, sources tell ESPN.

The altercation occurred at a practice court in a Las Vegas hotel this morning, sources said — starting when Adebayo approached Herro about comments the guard made critiquing the center on social media after their seven-year run in Miami ended,”

The 28-year-old Adebayo is about to begin the three-year, $166 million contract extension he signed with the Heat in 2024 next season (2026-27), while Herro, 26, is about to enter the fourth and final year of the four-year, $120 million contract extension he originally signed with Miami back in 2022.

It was clearly an emotional exit for Herro, who had been the subject of trade rumors for years before finally being shipped to Milwaukee last week. That frustration spilled over online, and Adebayo wasn’t having it, confronting him at Summer League where this reported altercation went down.

Whether any discipline comes from this remains to be seen, though either way, it’s certainly not a good look for anyone involved.
