BREAKING: Dolphins CUT Tyreek Hill & Bradley Chubb – Miami in Full Rebuild Mode!

The Miami Dolphins just dropped two massive bombshells today, and it’s clear the team is undergoing some serious roster changes, entering a rebuild. The Dolphins released two players.

Tyreek Hill Released

Tyreek Hill has been released. The 8x Pro Bowler, 5x All-Pro wide receiver turns 32 soon, coming off a nasty dislocated knee and torn ACL from 2025. This will be his first time as an unrestricted free agent.

The move saves Miami approximately $22.8M in cap space, but they eat roughly $28M dead money.

Over the course of his Dolphins career, he has 340 catches, 4,733 yards, 28 TDs in 54 games. He was the NFL’s #1 player in the 2023 Top 100.

Bradley Chubb Released

Bradley Chubb was also released on Monday. The two-time Pro Bowler edge rusher is 29 years old and led the team with 8.5 sacks in 2025 after missing 2024 with an ACL tear. Over his career he has 48 sacks total ( between the Broncos and Dolphins). The move will save Miami about $7-20M in 2026 cap (depending on pre- or post-June 1 timing), but again, they will take a $24M dead-money hit.

This is the second high-profile cut by the Dolphins today (Hill was the follow-up to Chubb), with more possibly coming (they also cut guard James Daniels and others per reports).

What About QB Tua Tagovailoa?

It is being reported that the Dolphins are trying to find a trade partner for quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. Should they not be able to trade him, he will be a cut candidate as well.

Tagovailoa earns $54M fully guaranteed in 2026, which is something the Dolphins would like to work around. The cut would be historic, a $99M in dead cap pain. Unfortunately, the trade market is slim due to his salary/injury history.

Miami’s clearing house for cap relief and a reset. Hill could land anywhere. Chubb’s pass-rush production makes him a hot free agent commodity.
