Former WWE Champion Big E has provided an update on his in-ring return, emphasizing that he still lacks a definitive timeline for his comeback. In an interview with TMZ, the wrestler acknowledged the complexity of his decision-making process, stating that he’s taking his time and doing the right thing before he considers a return.
He explained:
“It’s all together, the bones connect to the other bones. I just wanna make a smart decision, you know, I didn’t start wrestling to end up in a wheelchair, so yeah, wanna make sure I’m just making the best decision for myself…I don’t have a timeline unfortunately.”
It’s smart that Big E is prioritizing his health over a hasty return to the ring. The wrestler suffered a severe neck injury over 18 months ago and he’s got a ton of prospects beyond being an in-ring performer, should he want to explore different opportunities. Further injury would only jeopardize those prospects.
As it is now, he’s been able to resume a normal life and engage in weightlifting activities. Stepping back into the wrestling arena would be the final step, if he’s cleared and feels comfortable doing so. He fractured his C1 and C6 in multiple places but did not require surgery. Despite the doctors’ cautious stance against Big E returning to wrestling, he remains hopeful for his comeback.
Big E Make Take On A Different Role in WWE
While the possibility of an in-ring return remains uncertain, Big E is exploring alternative roles within WWE. Multiple doctors have advised against him resuming wrestling due to his broken neck. Consequently, the wrestler is contemplating a transition into a color commentary role, showcasing his charisma and positivity in a different aspect of the business.
Despite the challenges, Big E remains grateful for his current condition, reporting a lack of nerve pain and no strength issues. His positive outlook is contagious, especially considering what he’s been through. As fans await further developments, Big E’s journey will be watched closely by New Day and WWE fans. The next time he shows up will be a big deal for the WWE Universe.
